Your child can come to me in Guisborough for any instrument. I've got everything set up and ready to go.

I can come to you within Guisborough. For drums or keyboard, you'll need your own instrument. For guitar, I can bring one along.

Hi, I'm Oliver 👋

I'm 16 and I've been playing music for years. I play guitar, drums, keyboard and saxophone, and I'm working towards making music my career. I started teaching because I remember what it was like to be a beginner — I know what works, what's confusing, and how to make it fun. I'm patient, relaxed and I genuinely love helping people learn.

Everything parents usually ask before the first lesson.

Does my child need their own instrument? ▼

If lessons are at my house, no — I have everything here. If I'm coming to you, you'll need your own drums or keyboard, but I can bring a guitar for your child to use.

What age is best to start? ▼

I mainly teach school age kids, so under 16. But I'm happy to teach anyone who's a beginner or just starting out, regardless of age.

Do you follow a set syllabus or do exams? ▼

No. My lessons are completely informal and fun-focused. I teach what your child is interested in — their favourite songs, basic skills, or whatever gets them excited about playing. No grades, no pressure.

How do I pay? ▼

Cash or bank transfer — whatever's easiest for you. Payment is per lesson, so there's no upfront cost or long-term commitment.

Will a parent need to be present? ▼

That's completely up to you. Parents are welcome to sit in on lessons or drop off and come back — whatever you and your child are comfortable with.

Can my child try a different instrument? ▼

Absolutely. If they start on guitar and want to try drums, that's no problem at all. They can switch whenever they like.
